I think not. I said this last spring, the NYT's school girl obsession with Ivy League gossip is one of its biggest black marks.

As much as I hate to say it, having working for a shitty, now-defunct newspaper, and since I enjoy reading newspapers, the fact that newspapers are way in the red and becoming increasingly obselete is probably what's making them kowtow to the Ivy League. The NYT figures if it can curry favor with establishments whose old money will never go out of style, it will somehow validate the paper.

If you want to hear something much more pathetic, the Chicago papers treat fucking Notre Dame's bigoted asses with the same lipstick.
